You cannot built on sinking sand

I was bandaging old wounds while ignoring all infection. and chasing after acceptance in a place of stony cold rejection. Pouring all my love into this man from the very start Never noticed I was nesting in a grave yard heart Drinking from a swamp and feeding upon lies. Ignoring your true face while adoring the disguise. I was building a house of cards in gale force winds and planting seeds on barren land. I was starting fires in torrential rains and building foundations on what I now believe to be Sinking Sand.... He keep his heart high upon the shelf, barren of other good. My arms are too short to reach for it And place it back where it should.
