We can easily forgive a child who is afraid of the dark. The real tragedy of life is when men and women are afraid of the light. Most birds were created to fly. Being grounded for them is a limitation within their ability to fly, not the other way around. You, on the other hand, were created to be loved. So for you to live as if you were unloved is a limitation, not the other way around. Living unloved is like clipping a bird’s wings and removing its ability to fly. Not something I want for you. Pain has a way of clipping our wings and keeping us from being able to fly. And if left unresolved for very long, you can almost forget that you were ever created to fly in the first place.
Owning our story can be heard but not nearly as difficult as spending our lives running from it. Embracing our vulnerabilities is risky but not nearly as dangerous as giving up on love and feeling the joys of belonging. The experiences that make us the most vulnerable. Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite power of our light.
Someone was hurt before you.
Wronged before you.
Frightened before you.
Humiliated before you.
YET
Someone survived!!!
You can do anything that you choose to do.
